Dear Daughter,
Early on when your parents started to change the promises that they made to you and I, I became very angry with God. I couldn't understand how Christian people could do such a thing. I was angry for many years and fell away from my faith because of how I was treated, but mostly knowing the pain you would likely be enduring from the closing of this adoption as well.
There was actually a very pivotal point where my eyes were opened. I won't dive into that today, but my faith slowly became more restored after this specific instance.
Over the last 5 years or so, my faith has become stronger and stronger. I read the Bible daily and take time to be in prayer. Some days, I'm in prayer for hours, other days I simply read a quick chapter in the Bible. My relationship with Jesus has become the most important thing in my life and I'm so grateful for it.
Recently, I have been reading Psalms. It's one of my favorite books of the Bible. The entire book is a prayer and is so beautiful to read. It discusses how great our God truly is even in the midst of trouble, oppression or any sort of pain. I think that's why Psalms is the one I cling to.
I recently spent time in prayer and meditated on Psalms 119. It's a really long chapter with almost 200 verses. Its main focus is obeying God's laws, giving thanks, praising Him and prayer for guidance, protection and deliverance. There are so many specific verses that I could point out in this chapter that really hit home, but I simply cannot list them all.
If you ever feel lost, just remember that the Lord is watching over you. He is protecting you and He hopes you cling to him. No matter what you might be going through at any point in time, He loves you so much more than even I can understand as your natural mother. Look to Him, sweet girl. He loves you.
Praying for you daily,
Love,
Abby
