Dear Daughter,

I want to start sharing more about your family and who everyone is. This seems like the perfect time since your cousin just turned 2!

Josh was born March 25, 2021. He is the sweetest two year old I have ever met! He's so loving, caring and is incredibly smart. He loves going for tractor rides, riding the horses, eating berries right off the bushes and loves going on an Easter egg hunt everyday. Collecting the eggs are one of his favorite things! He loves the farm!

In this picture, you will see your Uncle Kraig, Aunt Emily, Josh and their new baby, Hans. Hans was named after our great great grandfather who came to the United States from Denmark many years ago.

Here you will see your Great Grandma Kathy holding Hans. She is the sweetest woman and prays for you all the time. I hope you will be able to meet her someday. Papa Steve was her husband but went to heaven a few years ago. I wish you would have been able to meet Papa Steve. He was one of my most favorite people. I miss him dearly.

Below you will see your Great Grandma Penny holding Hans. He was getting passed around a lot! I've introduced Grandma Penny and Papa Jerry to you on your Instagram page (silencedbirthmom). They are the most fun people around!

And finally, your Step Dad. I haven't introduced you to Casey here on this website, but I have introduced him to you on Instagram. Casey is my husband and I truly couldn't ask for a better guy. He is incredibly supportive, loving, loyal and incredibly intelligent. He keeps me grounded in truth and holds me tight when I need it most. I can't wait for you to meet him someday! He loves you so much.

He's a police officer and had to work during Josh's birthday party, but as soon as he came home, Josh couldn't wait to see the police car (like he does every day haha!). Josh loves to push all the buttons in the car that create noise and he loves the flashing lights too.

Birthdays are hard for me - I'm not going to lie. I get sad because these types of moments were moments that was promised for you and I. I try my best to find joy celebrating the kid's birthdays, but it's a reminder of what I missed with you.

I hope we will be able to make up for the years missed. I hold onto this Bible verse and have for so many years.

“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” Joel 2:25

Time is the one that that we cannot ever get back, but yet God promises to restore time in this verse. He can, and promises to do the impossible. When I sit back and think about this verse, it literally brings tears to my eyes knowing that someday that time will be restored to us, even if that never comes into fruition on this earth, I know it will be restored in Heaven. I can't wait for the day that we start on a new journey of reunion if it's ever something you would like.

I love you. I hope to see you soon.

Love,

Abby
